Designers!

Here are the designers that help with the sketches and keep Little Shop of Sketches ticking along……

Founder of Little Shop

Tanya Leigh

My name is Tanya Leigh, I’m 38 years old and live in Christchurch, NZ. I am a solo mum to 3 wonderful boys. Jarrod (14), Leigh (12) and Noah (5). These guys are my main inspiration for my scrapping. I started Little Shop of Sketches on 21st May 2008 (also my birthday) as I love working from sketches and thought why not do my own sketches. I have had fun over the last couple of years doing Little Shop  and have had a few different designers over those years.

I am Mia Montalvan-Castrillo from the Philippines. I have been married for 11 years to my college sweetheart and have 4 princesses ages 9, 7, 3 and 8 months. I am the manager of our family household and a contributing writer to a local newspaper in our city. In between cooking, writing, taking my girls to school and generally taking care of our household, I scrap. And I’m pretty addicted to it. :-)

I started fixing my pictures when I was in high school but got really serious into it in 2004 after the birth of my 2nd daughter. I lean towards clean and simple scrapping with strong journaling. I scrap as a way of communicating to my loved ones. Nothing is more fulfilling than a hug and an appreciated word from a loved one who has just read my layout’s journaling. Scrapping is my form of relaxation after a busy day. I love the creative process — choosing papers, looking for the right embellishments, thinking of my journaling. I am SOO addicted that I think of journaling and layouts in the shower, while breastfeeding, before sleeping, while changing diapers, while cooking, and in almost every spare time I have. I scrapbook because it is how I am able to express my love for my husband and children. I scrapbook because I am a storyteller and I love telling the stories of my children.

Anne Pennington

I grew up in a military family, with lots of opportunity to travel and live around Canada and Europe – but I love my life in a small village in Ontario, Canada where my kids have been free to roam and play or hang out with their friends. I am a mother of five great kids, two still at home and attending high school. I am a publisher and have been involved with print design and training for years. I believe in life-long learning, and I study part-time at Queen’s University.
I have been scrapbooking for 3 years.  A couple of girlfriends from school days invited me to scrap with them for a week 3 years ago, and I told them I’d rather gouge my eyes out.  They bribed me with wine, and so I came out to visit. From that moment on I have been passionate about scrapbooking.I have met so many awesome new friends through my passions of scrapbooking and photography! My favourite scrapbooking subjects are my children and my beautiful mother, who passed away in 2009. I am happiest when my style is whimsical or vintage, but I try different styles whenever I can.  I’ve been on a few design teams and my work has been published.  I’m also looking forward to having my work published in my favourite Canadian scrapbooking magazine this fall.
I am excited to be here and to have new friends on the team and community of Little Shop of Sketches!!
I live in Auckland NZ with my hubby of 16 years (Mark) and my 6 gorgeous kids ranging in age from 19 to 2 (plenty of inspiration there lol) . I am a stay at home mum and since I discovered scrapbooking 5 years ago I have been a hopeless addict. I am currently on the design team for two NZ scrapbook stores Scrapbook NZ, and Scottie Crafts and also for the Australian based company ‘Rasberry’.  I am a regular contributor to several overseas scrapbooking magazines.  In 2008 I was delighted to be chosen as an “elite” team member for the NZ magazine Up2Scrap.  I love working from sketches and putting my own twist on them.   My pages often have a whimsical feel to them but I love to try out new techniques and my style changes according to my inspiration. I am really looking forward to contributing to ‘Little Shop of Sketches’ and to getting to know you all.
Hey Sketchers! My name is Lindsey and I’m delighted to be a part of the LSS team. Is it any coincidence that one of my favorite stage musicals is Little Shop of Horrors? I think not! Otherwise I’m a wife of 11 years and a SAHM to Matthew, 8 and McKenna, 5, and pups Mia, 2 1/2 and Milo, born 1/5/2011. We love our spot in rural New York’s Hudson Valley and I love my spot in my office/scraproom! We moved in a year ago and I’m finally settling down and getting used to how organized my new room is (messy, but organized!). You might find me creating everything from paper, Creative Memories photo albums, digital to altering – I love it all! (= Thanks again for the opportunity to be a part of LSS; I love all things scrapbooking and all things sketching. Cheers!
I am in my twenties. I live in Florida with my boyfriend of 5 years and I work at Disney World. I started scrapbooking in high school but I did the pictures and stickers route. I eventually graduated to using some pretty paper but I still covered the pages in stickers lol! I stopped scrapping for a few years when life got kinda crazy for me. I came back to it as a way to find a stress relief. I discovered a scrapping message board with an online gallery and I started to improve my pages. I love learning new techniques and utilizing them in my pages. I love sketches for the simple reason that they help inspire me so much. Scrapbooking has become so much more than a hobby and a stress relief for me, it has become part of who I am. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be part of this team!
Hi!   My name is Debbie and I’m really excited to have been chosen to be in the LSOS team!   I’ve always loved playing with paper, material and wool and am generally willing to try making and creating just about anything and everything – sometimes the results are keepers and sometimes they’re not, but that’s how you learn, I guess!    I’ve been scrapping for about 6 years.   I went with a friend to a scrapbooking evening way back when and have been pottering away ever since.
On the home front, I’m a SAHM to two teenage sons, Matt and Josh, and a big old ginger cat named George.   I met my husband, Rob, at university in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1988 (eeekkk!  The ’80s!   That sounds soooo long ago…) and that’s where we live now.
I’m really looking forward to working on all the new LSOS sketches this year and seeing how other people interpret them too, so pretty papers out and trimmers to hand and let’s get busy people!
I am Regina “Reggie” Castillo from the Philippines. I am a wife to my ever supportive and appreciative husband of 10 years and a mom to my lovely 9 year old daughter and adorable 1 year and 10 month old son. I am a lawyer by profession but I do scrapbooking as a passion. I started with scrapbooking in 2007 and since then my addiction to this craft, as well as the scrap shopping that goes with it, has not been controlled. Since I started, I have been a bystander in this craft waiting to be inspired by the seasoned scrappers around the world until I finally decided to turn tables and attempt to inspire fellow scrappers myself. I hope LSS will provide for this venue.
